Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Research Associate to join their team in Waste and Material Flow Management. This role involves conducting research on renewable energy utilization and energy optimization, specifically focusing on the BIOSOLFarm project. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching background information (legal, economic) for renewable energy use, developing strategies to evaluate and optimize energy balances on farms, and creating a toolbox for energy system optimization in agricultural businesses. Key responsibilities also include collaborating with project partners in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Poland, and Lithuania, preparing project reports, engaging in public relations, organizing scientific events, and publishing research findings. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a background in environmental engineering or energy technology to contribute to cutting-edge research in a supportive academic environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (State Examination, Diploma, Master's, or comparable) in Environmental Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable field, preferably with good results.

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in renewable energy utilization and energy optimization is desirable
  • Initial practical experience in project work
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and with regional agricultural businesses
