Job Summary

The Bergische Universität Wuppertal is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join their Molecular Cell Biology and Microbiology team as a doctoral candidate. This role focuses on cutting-edge research into siRNA-controlled chromatin dynamics, exploring the intersection of chromatin dynamics, transcription, and epigenetic inheritance. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying Omics analyses (ChIP-seq, MNase, Pro-Seq, sRNA-Seq) at the chromatin and sRNA levels, including bioinformatics, and establishing new genome-wide analysis methods. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to pursue a Ph.D. in a forward-thinking field, contribute to scientific publications, and present findings at conferences, while also mentoring students.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field

Experience

  • Professional experience in molecular biology and genetics
  • Experience with Omics analyses on chromatin and sRNA level (ChIP-seq, MNase, Pro-Seq, sRNA-Seq) including bioinformatics is preferred
  • Experience in establishing new genome-wide analysis methods is preferred
  • Experience in scientific publication and presentation

  • This is a qualification position intended to support a doctoral procedure, limited to a maximum of 3 years initially, with potential for extension within the limits of the WissZeitVG. The position is part-time (50% of full-time hours).
