Job Summary

The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at Saarland University is seeking a Research Associate to join their Molecular and Cell Biology laboratory. In this role, you will conduct clinical-oriented basic and translational research focused on urological tumors. Your daily responsibilities will include performing advanced cell culture techniques (2D, 3D, and organoids), executing functional assays such as proliferation and migration studies, and conducting miRNA analysis via RT-PCR. You will also characterize extracellular vesicles to help identify biomarkers for diagnostics and prognosis, as well as investigate mechanisms of therapy resistance. This position is ideal for a dedicated researcher with a background in biology, molecular biology, or pharmacy who is eager to contribute to innovative cancer research in an academic environment that values work-life balance and professional development.

Required Skills

Education

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy, or a related field.

Experience

Professional experience in cell culture techniques

Additional

Valid recognition of foreign academic degrees by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required for non-German degrees. This is a fixed-term position (maternity/parental leave replacement) with the possibility of extension through third-party funding. Work permit for Germany required.
