Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position at Saarland University involves working within the Core Facility for FACS & Particle Analysis and the Molecular Pharmacology group. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing tissue sections, performing histological and antibody staining, conducting flow cytometry (FACS), and preparing samples for mass spectrometry. The successful candidate will also be responsible for laboratory organization, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and supervising students. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA). Candidates with training as Medical Technical Assistants (MTA) or Chemical Technical Assistants (CTA) are also considered if they have relevant cell culture experience.
Experience
- Professional experience following completion of training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA)
- Proven expertise in flow cytometry, FACS, and histological staining methods
- Practical experience in cell culture (specifically required for candidates with MTA or CTA backgrounds)
- Experience in creating standard operating procedures and laboratory management
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with high levels of reliability and care

Additional
- Recognition of foreign degrees by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required prior to hiring for international applicants. Ability to work on-site in Homburg/Saarland is required.
