Job Summary
This PhD position at the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a DFG-funded project focused on the phylogenomics, systematics, and biogeography of the plant family Dichapetalaceae. The successful candidate will conduct integrative research combining molecular data, morphology, and computational evolutionary analyses to reconstruct historical biogeographic patterns. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating and analyzing genomic datasets, performing taxonomic revisions using herbarium data, conducting field sampling, and disseminating findings through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Botany or a related field and possess a strong background in evolutionary biology and genomics. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented researcher who thrives in interdisciplinary environments and seeks to collaborate with international partners. The position is part-time (65%) and limited to a three-year contract, providing a unique chance to work within a world-renowned biodiversity research institution.
