As a Materials Testing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of components through non-destructive testing (NDT). Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing VT, PT, MT, and UT inspections, preparing technical inspection instructions based on industry standards, and providing final sign-off on inspection reports. You will also mentor junior staff, evaluate inspection results to determine necessary corrective actions, and assist in failure analysis for technical departments. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background in metalworking or related fields. You will be part of a team dedicated to high-quality maintenance, particularly within the railway sector. Required Skills

Education

Completed apprenticeship in metalworking or related field; preferred additional qualification as a Master Craftsman (Werkmeister) or technical education at the Matura level.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures
  • Professional experience in metalworking or related technical fields
  • Experience in the railway maintenance sector is considered a significant advantage
  • Experience in leading or guiding junior inspection personnel

Languages

Additional

  • Valid NDT certifications (VT2, PT2, UT2, MT2, or Level 3) in the railway maintenance sector; Driver's license Class B; Work permit for Austria required.
