Job Summary

The City of Kiel is seeking a dedicated Commercial Clerk to support the Mobility and Strategy department as it transitions to managing the municipal street lighting network in-house. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial and administrative oversight of the lighting infrastructure, which includes approximately 19,700 light points. Your daily tasks will involve managing procurement processes, handling contract administration, performing cost-benefit analyses, and maintaining the lighting cadastre. You will also oversee budget management, invoice processing, and the financial settlement of maintenance and repair works. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in data analysis and administrative coordination. Required Skills

Education

Completed three-year vocational training in a commercial field, or qualification as a Public Administration Clerk (Verwaltungsfachangestellte/r), or completion of the Angestelltenlehrgang I.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a commercial or administrative capacity.
  • Professional experience in procurement, contract administration, or financial accounting.
  • Experience with specialized database and operational management software is preferred.
