Job Summary

As a Research Associate in the 'Digitalization of Battery Cell Production' department, you will play a pivotal role in advancing battery cell manufacturing through data science and AI. Your day-to-day responsibilities include identifying and conceptualizing data-driven use cases across the battery value chain, preparing heterogeneous production data, and developing pipelines for analytical and machine learning applications. You will deploy AI models to optimize production processes and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create sustainable industrial solutions. Additionally, you will coordinate and manage national and international research projects. This position is unique as it offers the opportunity to contribute to a lighthouse project in battery technology, work in an innovative research environment, and pursue a PhD within the Fraunhofer network. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, and proficiency in both German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma) in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics, a STEM field, or a comparable discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in data science and the implementation of data-driven use cases.
  • Experience in handling databases and database management systems (SQL, NoSQL, OLAP/OLTP).
  • Experience or strong interest in digital production and IT infrastructure (MES, LIMS, IIoT).
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration within research or industrial settings.
