Job Summary

The Stuttgart Regional Council is seeking a Laboratory Technical Assistant to join the State Office for Monument Preservation in Gaienhofen-Hemmenhofen. In this role, you will play a vital part in the dendrochronological laboratory, focusing on the analysis of archaeological wood samples. Your day-to-day responsibilities include preparing wood samples for tree-ring measurement and anatomical analysis, assisting with onsite sampling during archaeological excavations, managing data entry, and supporting laboratory procurement processes. This position is ideal for someone with a background in biological, chemical, or medical laboratory technology, or relevant experience in archaeology or wood science. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), or equivalent relevant training.

Experience

  • Professional experience in laboratory work, wood science, or archaeological research
  • Practical experience in sample preparation and documentation

German (Basic)

Additional

  • Must not have been previously employed by the State of Baden-Württemberg (due to fixed-term contract regulations under § 14 Abs. 2 TzBfG). Valid driver's license (trailer license and forklift certification are advantageous). This is a part-time role (19.75 hours/week).
