Job Summary

As an IT Security Specialist at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), you will play a pivotal role in securing sensitive biomedical data for the Data Space Trusted Research Environment and the German Human Genome-Phenome Archive (GHGA). You will be responsible for defining security standards, maintaining an Information Security Management System (ISMS), and implementing risk management frameworks. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing current operations, identifying security gaps, and providing guidance to cross-functional teams including cloud engineers and researchers. You will ensure compliance with GDPR and international standards while fostering a culture of security awareness. This role is unique because it sits at the intersection of cutting-edge life sciences research and high-stakes data infrastructure, offering the opportunity to shape national and international standards for secure data handling in the biomedical field.
