As the Head of School Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational infrastructure for 47 municipal schools serving approximately 30,000 students. Your day-to-day responsibilities include leading the department, managing school development planning, and coordinating complex construction projects—ranging from new builds to expansions. You will serve as the primary liaison between city planning, building management, and educational authorities, ensuring that space requirements are met and funding programs are effectively utilized. Key qualifications include a strong background in public administration, proven leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes. This position is unique because it offers the chance to lead long-term strategic initiatives, such as the 'Startchancen-Programm' (2024-2034), in a stable, permanent public sector role that directly impacts the future of the city's educational environment.

Required Skills

Education

Qualification for the third entry level of the administration and finance career path (LBG) OR successfully completed training as an Administrative Specialist (Verwaltungsfachwirt) / Second Employee Examination (Angestelltenprüfung II) or equivalent degree.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration or relevant management roles
  • Proven leadership and personnel management experience
