Job Summary
As an AIT Engineer at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, you will play a critical role in the development of the Photospheric Magnetic field Imager (PMI) for the ESA Vigil mission. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve preparing, coordinating, and executing assembly, integration, and test campaigns at both the sub-system and instrument levels. You will collaborate closely with internal project teams and external partners to ensure mission success. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in physics or engineering and possesses substantial experience in AIT processes, particularly within clean room environments and in accordance with ECSS standards. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Substantial professional experience in Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) campaigns
- Professional experience working within clean room environments
- Professional experience in system engineering and space instrument development
- Experience with environmental testing protocols such as Thermal Vacuum (TVac) testing
Languages
Additional
- Must be eligible to work in Germany. Position is limited to a 2-year contract. Ability to work in a clean room environment is required.
