Job Summary

This PhD position at the Institute of Energy Technologies (IET-1) focuses on the development of innovative, PFSA-free electrodes for PEM water electrolysis. The successful candidate will work on manufacturing and optimizing porous transport electrodes (PTEs) for membrane-electrode assemblies (MEAs). Key responsibilities include conducting electrochemical and structural characterizations, validating performance in half-cell and full-cell experiments, and scaling processes from laboratory to larger cell sizes. You will analyze structure-performance relationships to improve energy density and stability, while presenting your findings in scientific journals and conferences. This role is ideal for a motivated researcher with a background in chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering who is eager to contribute to the energy transition. You will benefit from a collaborative, international research environment, access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, and comprehensive support throughout your doctoral studies.
