Job Summary

As an Interface and Integration Engineer at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum for Schwerionenforschung, you will play a pivotal role in the NUSTAR collaboration, which involves over 700 scientists worldwide. Your primary responsibility is to bridge the gap between scientific requirements and technical implementation for experiments at the FAIR facility. You will coordinate installation planning, manage technical interfaces between experimental equipment and infrastructure, and act as a representative for assembly coordination in an international research environment. Key requirements include a strong background in engineering or physics, proven experience in managing complex systems, and excellent communication skills to navigate interdisciplinary teams. This position is unique because it offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the world's largest research projects, working at the forefront of nuclear structure and astrophysics in a collaborative, high-impact scientific setting.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or Diploma in Engineering or Physics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the assembly and construction of complex machines or systems
  • Proven experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and working within international teams
  • Experience in scientific or research environments preferred
