Job Summary
As a Scientific Staff member at the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IFA), you will play a critical role in advancing workplace safety through the application of Artificial Intelligence and Functional Safety. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve planning, executing, and analyzing scientific projects focused on AI, Big Data, and programmable electronic systems. You will conduct safety assessments of sensors, machinery, and AI-based software, while providing expert consultation to accident insurance institutions. Additionally, you will represent the institute through international publications and presentations. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong academic background in engineering or computer science who is passionate about research, development, and standard-setting in a mission-driven environment. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma) in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Technical Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
Experience
- Professional experience in scientific project management
- Experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence
- Experience in functional safety and electronic circuits
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages

- Must be willing to undertake occasional multi-day business trips. Proficiency in German and English at C1 level required.
