Job Summary

The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a dedicated Cloud Administrator & Information Security Officer to manage their de.NBI cloud infrastructure and oversee information security. In this dual role, you will maintain an OpenStack-based cloud environment, ensuring system performance and reliability for the life sciences research community. Simultaneously, you will drive the improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in alignment with ISO 27001 standards. Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, managing security policies, coordinating audits, and fostering security awareness. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science, IT Security, Bioinformatics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration and/or cloud infrastructure (OpenStack or comparable)
  • Professional experience in IT security concepts, network security, and access management
  • Experience with ISO 27001 or comparable security frameworks such as BSI IT-Grundschutz
  • Prior involvement in ISMS implementation or certification projects is desirable
  • Experience in a research or academic IT environment is considered a plus
