Job Summary

As a Traffic Telematics Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and developing Germany's motorway infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the planning, tendering, and supervision of traffic control systems and traffic signal installations. You will define project requirements, manage contracts for external engineering services, and oversee the technical implementation of signal plans and control logic. You will also monitor existing systems via traffic computer networks to ensure optimal performance. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Civil Engineering with a focus on traffic systems. You must possess extensive experience in electrical and communication engineering, along with deep knowledge of German technical regulations and contract law (VOB/VGV). This role is unique as it offers the opportunity to directly influence the safety and efficiency of national transport infrastructure within a stable, long-term professional environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Dipl.-Ing. FH) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Civil Engineering (specialization in Traffic Engineering).

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience in electrical and communication engineering
  • Extensive experience in planning, tendering, and awarding of freelance, supply, and construction contracts
  • Experience in the technical supervision of construction projects and commissioning of traffic systems
