Job Summary

This PhD position offers an exciting opportunity to join a research group focused on advancing catalytic 'dream reactions' to minimize waste in synthetic chemistry. As a research assistant, you will design and conduct experiments in homogeneous catalysis, specifically utilizing Pd and Ni precatalysts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve synthesizing and characterizing transition metal complexes, investigating reaction mechanisms through advanced spectroscopic techniques, and optimizing catalytic conditions. Beyond experimental work, you will document findings, contribute to scientific manuscripts, and participate in interdisciplinary collaborations. A key component of this role is the supervision of bachelor-level organic chemistry practical courses, totaling 600 hours over the three-year contract. This position is ideal for a highly motivated chemist eager to contribute to sustainable chemical synthesis while developing expertise in reactor design, instrumental analysis, and mechanistic studies within a supportive academic environment.
