Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1625 in the development and characterization of complex thin-film material libraries. As a Technical Assistant, you will work closely with scientific staff to produce thin films using sputtering techniques and conduct high-throughput characterization. A significant portion of the role involves the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, including sputter systems, high-vacuum pumps, and cooling systems. You will also perform cleanroom tasks such as photolithography and various material analysis measurements. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with a strong background in vacuum technology and materials science who thrives in a research-oriented environment. Required Skills

Education

Technical vocational training (e.g., Technician) or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in high-vacuum technology
  • Professional experience in the production and processing of thin films, preferably using sputtering
  • Professional experience in characterization of thin films (preferably EDX, SEM, XRD)
  • Previous experience in research and development environments is desirable
