Job Summary

This PhD student position focuses on cutting-edge research into mitochondrial RNA modification and its impact on metabolic plasticity in leukemic stem cells, aiming to understand drug resistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The successful candidate will apply advanced techniques such as nanopore direct-RNA-seq, CRISPR perturbations, Ribo-seq, and scRNA-seq, working with primary healthy and malignant cells, and in vivo models. Key responsibilities include analyzing tRNA modification levels in patient samples, integrating multi-omics data to correlate patterns with treatment response, and functionally validating candidate RNA modifications. This role is part of a collaborative SFB/CRC 1709 project, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to new cancer therapies within a dynamic research environment, with strong support for scientific publication and professional development.
