This permanent, full-time position at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel involves a dual focus on academic teaching and laboratory management within the Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will independently organize and conduct undergraduate modules, supervise Bachelor and Master theses, and contribute to advanced teaching in biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics. Functionally, the role includes managing laboratory equipment, serving as a safety officer for S1-classified facilities, and overseeing project compliance under the Genetic Engineering Act (GenTSV). Required Skills

Education

University degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biology, or Pharmacy; PhD (magna cum laude or better) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, or Cell Biology; Habilitation or equivalent achievements are considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Professional experience in independent scientific profile building post-doctorate
  • Demonstrated experience in securing third-party research funding
  • Extensive academic teaching experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics
  • Experience in supervising students at Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral levels
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in genetic engineering (GenTSV compliance required)
  • Proven track record of high-impact scientific publications
