Job Summary

This role involves the technical leadership and management of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and biosensor infrastructure within the Institute of Materials Science at Kiel University. The successful candidate will independently manage the group's AFM systems, developing and validating novel measurement protocols for research projects focused on bioinspired materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include the strategic planning of equipment upgrades, performing complex experiments using sensor systems like SPR and QCM, and serving as the laboratory safety officer. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between technical infrastructure management and active scientific research.
