This role involves supporting the Cluster of Excellence ROOTS at Kiel University by developing and maintaining critical IT and data infrastructure. You will be responsible for programming and implementing visualization tools for remote sensing and excavation datasets, primarily within GIS environments. Day-to-day tasks include managing geodata infrastructures, web-mapping services, and statistical software packages. Additionally, you will oversee PC laboratories and server environments (Windows and Linux), manage virtual machine systems (VDI), and provide technical support for research equipment like magnetometers.
