Job Summary

As a Senior AI Scientist at BWI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital future of the German Armed Forces. Working within the Tech Center AI & Robotics, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and practical industrial application. Your day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating emerging AI architectures, developing prototypes for foundation models, and advising stakeholders on strategic technological developments. You will focus on training and alignment methods for generative language, multimodal, and world models, while managing large-scale data pipelines. This role is unique because it combines high-level academic research with mission-critical applications in a complex, large-scale IT environment. You will contribute to national security by ensuring technological excellence and future-readiness. Required Skills

Experience

  • Professional experience in designing and managing high-scalability data pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Proven experience in the curation, deduplication, and quality filtering of web-scale datasets.
  • Practical experience in pre-training models from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with efficiency methods including LoRA, QLoRA, Adapter-Tuning, SFT, and RL techniques.
