Job Summary

This Postdoctoral position at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) offers an opportunity to conduct high-level research within the Heyckendorf research group. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing wetlab methods, overseeing sequencing projects, performing lung organoid experiments, and analyzing complex omics data, including single-cell sequencing. The successful candidate will bridge service-oriented support for collaboration requests with independent scientific project work. This position is ideal for a researcher looking to advance their expertise in bioinformatics and genome science within a multidisciplinary, international academic environment. Applicants must hold a PhD in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a related field and possess strong programming capabilities. Required Skills

Education

Completed academic degree (Master or Diploma) and a PhD (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or related areas.

Experience

  • Professional experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or related research fields
  • Demonstrated experience in transcriptomics, epigenomics, or NGS protocol development
  • Practical experience in organoid methods or pneumological immunology
  • Experience with high-throughput compute environments is considered an asset
