The City of Salzgitter is seeking a Team Lead for the Administration division within its Digital and IT department. In this role, you will oversee administrative operations, manage operational controlling and reporting, and handle cost accounting and performance billing for IT services. A core responsibility includes managing the procurement of hardware and software, including contract negotiations, tender processes, and budget monitoring. You will also be responsible for year-end closing tasks and general administrative duties. This position is ideal for a professional with a background in public administration or business management who possesses strong leadership skills and a commitment to municipal service. Required Skills

Education

Successful completion of the Administrative Course II (Verwaltungslehrgang II), or a Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Administrative Business Management, or a comparable degree in Economics or Business Administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in public administration or business management
  • Experience in municipal budget law and cost accounting is highly desirable
  • Experience with public procurement law is considered a significant advantage
  • Demonstrated leadership or personnel development competencies

Additional

  • Must be willing to obtain the municipal leadership certificate (Führungskräftetestat) within 8 years. Must possess strong legal application skills and gender mainstreaming competence. This is a permanent, full-time position (part-time compatible) based in Salzgitter, Germany.
