Job Summary

This role within the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) involves serving as a central specialist for geodetics and geoinformatics. You will manage the production and maintenance of official waterway map series, oversee the procurement and coordination of engineering contracts for geodata management, and provide technical guidance for surveyors and contractors. The position requires a strong background in cartography, geoinformatics, and project management to support sustainable waterway infrastructure. You will work in an interdisciplinary team, supported by a comprehensive onboarding program. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Surveying, Geodesy, Cartography, Geoinformatics, or an equivalent academic degree.

Experience

  • Professional experience in cartography and geodata management
  • Experience in the conception, maintenance, and provision of geodatabases
  • Experience in project management and technical reporting
  • Experience in managing engineering contracts and contractor oversight

Languages

German (Fluent)

  • Must hold a recognized university degree in the specified fields. Proficiency in German (C1 level) is mandatory. Willingness to travel for business (including multi-day trips) is required.
