Job Summary

The Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (BAW) is seeking a Research Associate to join their Building Materials department in Karlsruhe for a three-year term. This role focuses on the innovative field of inflatable rubber dams, which are increasingly replacing conventional steel weir systems in German waterways. You will be responsible for planning and conducting laboratory tests on reinforced elastomer membranes, advising manufacturers on material durability and environmental compatibility, and contributing to technical regulations. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage in application-oriented research and innovation in hydraulic engineering.
