Job Summary

As a Science Communicator and Press Officer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), you will play a pivotal role in translating complex scientific breakthroughs into compelling narratives for the public and media. Your day-to-day work involves identifying high-impact research stories, drafting press releases, and proactively managing media relations across print, online, and broadcast channels. You will collaborate closely with world-class scientists to position the DKFZ strategically in the public eye, developing innovative cross-media formats to ensure research findings are understood and appreciated. The ideal candidate brings a background in natural sciences or medicine, combined with proven experience in professional public relations. You will need a sharp sense for news, excellent communication skills in both German and English, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Natural Sciences or Human Medicine; a PhD is considered an advantage.

Experience
