Job Summary
As an IT Service Technician for the Kiel Fire Department, you will play a critical role in the System Technology, Communication, and Specialist IT Center (FITZ). Your daily responsibilities involve the administration of server and client systems across Windows, Android, and iOS platforms, ensuring seamless network connectivity (WAN, WLAN, MPLS) and managing specialized fire department software interfaces. You will handle hardware procurement, maintenance, and first-level support for office IT and telephony systems. This position offers a high degree of stability within the public service sector (TVöD EG 8), featuring flexible working hours, home office options, and comprehensive health and mobility benefits. Required Skills
Education
Completed at least a three-year vocational training in the IT field (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration or Application Development, Technical System Informatician, IT Systems Clerk, or IT Systems Electronics Technician).
Experience
- Professional experience in the administration of networked IT systems
- Professional experience in server and network administration
- Experience in client support for Apple and Windows environments
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (ITSM)
- Experience in independent technical problem assessment and solution evaluation
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required; Must be willing to perform on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft); Occasional work outside core hours required; Physical ability to lift up to 10 kg; Full fitness to drive is mandatory; Work location involves various sites within Kiel.
