Job Summary

As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), you will work at the cutting edge of biomedical optics and molecular diagnostics. Your daily responsibilities involve developing reliable, traceable measurement methods for detecting and quantifying pathogens in clinical samples. You will utilize digital PCR (dPCR) and qPCR techniques to quantify gene sequences of pathogens and cancer biomarkers, design specialized TaqMan assays, and perform complex data analysis including measurement uncertainty calculations. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to work with international metrology institutes and clinical partners to validate reference measurement procedures.
