Job Summary

As a Geoinformatics Specialist at the Federal Office for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), you will be responsible for the administration, automation, and optimization of geographic information and remote sensing software. Your daily tasks include the further development of the GIS landscape, managing users, licenses, and services, and creating security and update concepts. This role is critical for providing essential geodata to organizations like the Federal Police and disaster relief services. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/FH) in Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration of geoinformation and remote sensing software
  • In-depth knowledge of GIS software such as ESRI or SAFE
  • Experience in server-based application management, specifically ArcGIS Server and FME Flow
  • Practical experience with Python and PowerShell for automation
  • Experience with GIS software containerization and automation is preferred

Additional

  • Successful security clearance according to the Security Check Act (SÜG) is required. Location options are Frankfurt am Main or Leipzig. Permanent full-time position under the TVöD Bund (EG 11) collective agreement.
