Job Summary

This role involves joining the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) to manage and optimize critical geographic information systems. Based in either Frankfurt am Main or Leipzig, you will be responsible for the administration of geoinformation and remote sensing software, including automation, error analysis, and system optimization. Day-to-day tasks include developing the GIS landscape to meet user requirements, managing licenses and services, and creating security and update concepts. You will work with industry-standard tools like ESRI and FME to support national infrastructure projects. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/FH) in Geoinformatics, Geography, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration of geoinformation and remote sensing software
  • Advanced knowledge in GIS technologies, specifically ESRI and SAFE software ecosystems
  • Practical experience in server-based application management, including ArcGIS Server and FME Flow
  • Proficiency in automation using Python and PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with automation and containerization of GIS software is preferred

Additional

  • Successful security clearance according to the Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is required. Location: Frankfurt am Main or Leipzig. Must be able to participate in interviews conducted in German.
