Job Summary
This leadership role involves heading a construction department of 32 staff members divided into two specialized teams: Construction Projects and GVS Projects. You will be responsible for managing an annual investment volume exceeding 60 million euros, primarily focused on the development of schools and daycare centers, as well as fire safety improvements. Day-to-day, you will personally oversee high-profile projects, develop organizational standards, and foster collaboration with administrative bodies and regulatory authorities. The position offers a high degree of responsibility within public administration, requiring a mix of technical architectural expertise and political savvy. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or University Diploma (TH/TU) in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Must meet the requirements for the fourth entry level of the civil service (higher service) in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Experience
- Several years of leadership experience in a management capacity
- Extensive professional experience in the execution of structural engineering projects
- Proven experience working within public administration and interacting with political committees
- Experience using construction project management software such as AVA and scheduling databases
- Demonstrated experience in negotiation and assertive communication with external contractors
Languages
Additional
- Class B driver's license required with willingness to use private vehicle for business purposes (with compensation); Willingness to work outside standard business hours when necessary; Valid work permit for Germany required.
