Job Summary

This role involves joining the Vehicle Engineering team in Berlin to design and develop next-generation automotive closure systems, including doors, hoods, liftgates, mechanisms, and glazing. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle from conceptualization and CAD design to manufacturing release and production launch. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and global suppliers to achieve ambitious targets for function, quality, cost, and weight. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.

Experience

  • Professional experience in mechanical design and engineering within the automotive sector
  • Experience in the development and launch of closure commodities (structural panels, mechanisms, or sealing)
  • Demonstrated experience using engineering tools such as DFSS, DFMEA, and GD&T
  • Proven track record of managing internal and external suppliers to meet vehicle development milestones
  • Experience with vehicle development processes from concept through to production launch

Additional

  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience with 3D printing, CMM, and homologation testing is considered a plus. Application must be submitted in English.
