Job Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer within the Interior Engineering team in Berlin, you will play a critical role in developing and launching customer-facing vehicle components, including instrument panels, door trims, and consoles. You will act as a vital liaison between engineering teams in the US and Germany, ensuring seamless collaboration on global automotive programs. Your daily responsibilities will involve the full product lifecycle—from initial CAD development and CAE loops to manufacturing launch and root-cause analysis. You will work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment where you are expected to challenge conventional automotive philosophies and innovate on premium interior systems. This position is particularly attractive for those who enjoy hands-on prototyping and want to see their designs move rapidly from concept to real-world production. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in automotive interior component and subsystem engineering
  • Proven experience in technical design from concept through to production release and launch
  • Demonstrated experience in 3D modeling within an automotive product development environment
  • Experience with change control and part release processes
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and manufacturing trials
