Job Summary
This role involves working as a Medical Coder for DRG within a successful German health insurance company, BKK firmus, which is expanding its operations in Essen. The successful candidate will be responsible for the independent formal and medical review of hospital invoices, translating medical content and coding discrepancies into audit algorithms in compliance with legal regulations. Key tasks include analyzing expert opinions, clarifying revenue-relevant issues with hospitals and the Medical Service, and communicating with hospitals in contentious cases to develop solutions. Additionally, the role involves advising and supporting insured individuals on specific questions related to inpatient care. This position offers flexibility with working hours, the option for mobile work, and opportunities for professional development.
Required Skills
Education
Completed medical vocational training (e.g., Health and Nursing Care, Psychiatric Nursing, or comparable qualification) and/or PEPP Case Manager. Completed further training as a clinical coding specialist is desirable.
Experience
- Experience with DRG/PEPP billing in hospitals or health insurance companies
- Professional experience in a clinical setting (desirable)
