Job Summary

This doctoral position focuses on the development and evaluation of innovative image reconstruction methods for simultaneous clinical dual-tracer PET imaging. Working at the Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research, the successful candidate will develop advanced algorithms to separate two simultaneously acquired radiotracers into distinct images from a single PET scan. Day-to-day tasks involve implementing these algorithms within a modular C++-based reconstruction framework, conducting GATE-based Monte Carlo simulations, and validating methods on clinical PET phantom data using a new total-body PET scanner. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Medical Engineering, or Computer Science and possess strong object-oriented programming skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between methodological development and clinical application within a vibrant, international research community. The position is part-time (19.5 hours/week) for 36 months and includes a structured PhD program with extensive networking and professional development opportunities in Dresden.
