Job Summary

As a Legal Process Officer at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), you will be responsible for representing the agency in legal disputes before courts regarding asylum and residency law. Your day-to-day activities involve processing lawsuits, drafting legal briefs for domestic asylum procedures, and making remedial decisions in coordination with relevant consultants. You will also be tasked with filing motions and making other procedural declarations such as individual statements of defense and evidentiary motions. A significant part of the role includes regularly attending court hearings to represent the Federal Office. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor's level minimum) in Public Administration, Public Management, Administrative Sciences, or Law (e.g., First State Examination, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree from a recognized professional academy).

Experience

  • Professional experience in legal process management or court representation within the context of asylum and residency law.
  • Experience in drafting legal briefs and procedural motions for administrative court proceedings.
  • Proven experience in administrative law and relevant national and international asylum legal frameworks.
  • Experience in independent and structured work under deadline pressure.

  • Class B driver's license is mandatory for weekly day trips within the state; must pass a Level 1 security clearance (SÜ1); proof of full measles protection required; must not have been previously employed by the Federal Republic of Germany (due to fixed-term contract regulations); foreign degrees must have a ZAB statement of comparability.
