Job Summary

This PhD position at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) focuses on the intersection of environmental exposure and pediatric health. As part of a larger 'One Health' project, the researcher will investigate how chemical exposures influence immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 using data and biosamples from the longitudinal LiNA birth cohort. Day-to-day responsibilities include epidemiological data analysis, immune phenotyping of blood samples, and conducting in vitro assays with human immune cells. The role involves implementing advanced analytical techniques such as multiparameter flow cytometry and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across virology and microbiome science. Required Skills

Education

Master's Degree (M.Sc.), Diploma, or equivalent university degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field.
