Job Summary

The City of Herne is seeking an AI Coordinator to join the newly established IT and Digitalization Department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building the city's Artificial Intelligence field from the ground up, including the independent creation of an AI strategy and a long-term roadmap through 2030+. Day-to-day, you will lead and coordinate AI-related projects, evaluate software for official use, and identify new use cases for administrative automation. You will act as a central consultant for various departments, establishing a competency network and conducting training sessions to foster AI literacy. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Organizational Management, Project Management, Business Administration, (Business) Informatics, Digital Administration, or equivalent; or qualification for high-level civil service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 1. Einstiegsamt); or completed Administrative Training II (Verwaltungslehrgang II).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the development and implementation of AI strategies and roadmaps
  • Proven experience in leading and coordinating digitalization projects
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing AI applications within a project framework
  • Experience in building professional networks or competency centers
  • Experience in conducting technical training or information events
  • Professional experience in public administration and knowledge of relevant legal frameworks (e.g., eGovG, OZG) is preferred
