Job Summary

As an IT Systems Administrator for the Youth and Social Welfare Office in Frankfurt, you will play a vital role in digitizing the city's infrastructure and supporting over 2,000 employees. Your daily responsibilities include the administration, optimization, and monitoring of a complex system landscape involving VMware vSphere and Windows Server environments. You will manage critical infrastructure components such as iSCSI storage, directory services (AD, DNS, DHCP), and database servers, while also providing essential 1st and 2nd level support. A significant part of the role involves contributing to IT security projects in alignment with BSI standards and GDPR. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science, or completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or equivalent qualification with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in virtualization, system operations, and application management
  • Proven experience with VMware vSphere, MS Windows Server, and MS SQL Server
  • Practical experience in IT security, including ISB tasks and documentation according to BSI standards and GDPR
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems is preferred
  • Practical experience in PowerShell scripting is advantageous
