Job Summary

As an IT Systems Specialist for Clinical Systems at the University Hospital Münster (UKM), you will play a vital role in digitizing healthcare for over 11,000 employees. Your daily responsibilities include the maintenance and continuous development of specialized Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) such as Dedalus Opus::L and WinTransmed. You will act as a consultant for system updates, coordinate with external service providers, and implement complex medical diagnostic solutions across various disciplines. This role is essential for ensuring high-availability IT infrastructure that supports patient care. You will bridge the gap between technical administration and medical application, ensuring seamless communication between laboratory devices and clinical software. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-performance IT environment with over 1,000 servers, contributing to meaningful strategic projects in a university medicine context while enjoying the stability of a public sector contract (TV-L).

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker), a degree in IT/Computer Science, or a comparable qualification in a STEM field; alternatively, a medical background (MFA/MT-L) with high IT affinity.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the administration of complex IT systems and applications.
  • Professional experience in laboratory or transfusion medicine application knowledge.
  • Experience in the administration and master data maintenance of complex laboratory systems (e.g., Opus::L, WinTransmed, Dorner).
  • Experience in connecting laboratory equipment such as Roche Cobas or Sysmex.
  • Experience with clinical communication protocols and scripting languages.

  • Full measles vaccination protection is required by law for this position. The role is based in Münster with a 38.5-hour work week under the TV-L collective agreement.
