Job Summary
As an Integrated AC-DC Hub Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the European energy transition by developing interoperable, multi-terminal DC networks. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve working on national and international projects to ensure the seamless integration of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems from multiple vendors. You will conduct complex design studies, assess interoperability to prevent grid interactions, and define functional requirements for both AC and DC connection points. This role is ideal for a technical expert who enjoys solving intricate electrical engineering challenges in a collaborative, international environment. Required Skills
Education
University degree (University/FH) with a focus on Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in conducting stationary and transient basic design studies for HVDC system components
- Demonstrated experience using power system simulation tools, specifically PSCAD and PowerFactory
- Experience working within national and international project frameworks
- Proven track record in solving complex technical problems within electrical engineering
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to travel regularly (approximately once per month) for national and international requirements; regular office presence (3-4 days per week) in Bayreuth or Lehrte required.
