Job Summary

This position is part of an ERC Starting Grant research group led by Dr. Marius Mader at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will drive high-level research projects focused on developing and preclinically evaluating novel cell therapy approaches for pediatric high-grade gliomas. Your daily work involves the targeted manipulation of brain immune cells, specifically microglia, and the design of innovative experimental strategies. You will be responsible for the entire research lifecycle, from conceptualization and complex data analysis to publishing results in high-impact journals. This role offers a stimulating environment within the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology clinic, encouraging independent scientific development and the supervision of junior researchers. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree and a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Neuro-oncology, Neuroscience, or Neuroimmunology.

Experience

  • Professional experience in neuro-oncology, neuroscience, or neuroimmunology
  • Proven track record of competitive publications demonstrating scientific rigor and originality
  • Extensive practical experience in mouse models and complex in-vivo experiments
  • Experience in the supervision and mentoring of junior researchers and students
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and interpreting complex biological datasets

  • Proof of full immunization against Measles is required before starting employment. The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extension. Work is located on the UKE campus in Hamburg.
