Job Summary
As the Head of Elective Services at Erlangen University Hospital, you will lead a specialized team responsible for the administrative and financial management of elective healthcare services. Your daily responsibilities include the professional and disciplinary leadership of the department, strategic development of service offerings in compliance with regulatory frameworks, and conducting contract negotiations with external billing entities. You will ensure accurate billing for both domestic and international private patients while overseeing the implementation of complex German healthcare legislation and billing regulations. This role is highly collaborative, requiring close coordination with accounting and controlling departments to optimize processes and standardize workflows. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage a critical revenue-generating sector within one of Middle Franconia's largest public employers, combining healthcare administration with high-level leadership and strategic planning in a stable, public service environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Health Economics, Health Management, or a comparable qualification with relevant experience in liquidation law.
Experience
- Professional experience in healthcare liquidation law and medical billing
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional or disciplinary capacity
- Experience in strategic development and implementation of regulatory requirements in a clinical setting
- Experience in contract negotiations with external billing or insurance entities
- Experience in process optimization and interface management between accounting and controlling

- The role is a permanent, full-time position (also available as part-time). Employment is subject to the TV-L collective agreement for public service. Candidates must be able to navigate complex Bavarian state regulations regarding secondary employment for civil servants and university teachers.
