This role involves leading the newly established Traffic Management Center (VMZ) for the Ministry of Transport in Baden-Württemberg. As the leader of this innovative hub, you will oversee the commissioning of a new control center and its dedicated data center, shaping both technical processes and organizational structures. You will manage a 24/7 operational team of 15 operators, ensuring road safety, tunnel functionality, and efficient traffic flow through AI-supported systems and intelligent data networking. The position requires coordinating with external authorities such as the police and fire departments while strategically evolving the center to meet future mobility demands. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or Diploma) in Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience, ideally in traffic management, tunnel operations, or technical control centers
  • Leadership experience in managing teams and responsibility for operational processes
  • Experience in public administration and managing 24/7 shift operations is highly desirable
  • Professional experience in coordinating complex traffic control measures and collaborating with emergency services
