Job Summary

This position is located within the Clinic and Polyclinic for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, specifically in the Pediatric Hematology and Experimental Oncology (PHEO) research group. As a Research Associate, you will focus on advancing therapies for childhood cancers, particularly acute leukemias. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve planning and conducting innovative experiments in molecular oncology, ranging from cell culture work to biochemistry. A significant part of the role includes translational science using modern mouse models to investigate gender-specific differences in cancer. You will also be responsible for establishing and optimizing new laboratory techniques, validating experimental approaches, and contributing to scientific publications and international research collaborations. This role is uniquely structured to support a PhD candidate, allowing you to independently evaluate and document results as the foundation for a successful dissertation. The position offers a highly collaborative environment with a strong focus on clinical relevance and translational impact.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in molecular and cell biological techniques
  • Practical experience with PCR, Western Blot, and Flow Cytometry
  • Experience in cell culture (ideally with primary cells)
  • Experience or willingness to work with mouse models
  • Experience in independent experimental planning and scientific documentation
