Working for the Directorate-General for Waterways and Shipping (GDWS), the successful candidate will oversee the implementation of the 'Master Plan for Recreational Shipping' across various locations including Bonn, Kiel, and Magdeburg. Day-to-day responsibilities include negotiating contracts for the transfer of waterway sections to third parties, evaluating water tourism data, and supervising infrastructure development projects. You will review planning documents, manage tenders, and coordinate with local authorities and associations. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Civil Engineering (specializing in Hydraulic Engineering) or Industrial Engineering with a focus on Business Administration and Civil Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience with operator and management models
  • Practical experience in contract negotiation with third parties
  • Experience in public sector budgeting and financial administration
  • Professional experience in procurement and contract law (VOB, VOL, VgV)
  • Experience with construction processes within the Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) is preferred
  • Specialist knowledge in hydraulic engineering is advantageous
