Job Summary

As a Systems Engineer for Business Applications, you will play a vital role in ensuring the digital future-readiness of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Your daily responsibilities involve providing 2nd level support for LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) platforms, managing application deployments, and identifying security risks. You will be responsible for creating release and deployment plans, implementing software configuration changes, and maintaining technical documentation. This position is unique as it offers the chance to work on one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, contributing directly to national security. The role is highly collaborative, involving service-specific IT solution development and integration within a modern environment utilizing Kubernetes and cloud-native concepts. Required Skills

Education

Completed 3-year technical vocational training with additional qualifications (e.g., Certified Specialist, Technician, Master Craftsman) or a university degree in a relevant technical field.

Experience

  • Approximately 5 years of professional experience in a related technical field, or up to 2 years of experience following a relevant degree
  • Professional experience with web and application servers such as Apache, NGINX, or Tomcat
  • Experience in managing Linux operating systems and database environments
  • Proven experience with automation tools and application deployment via code
  • Experience in 2nd level support and incident/problem management
